The creatures emerge.
The sky sprinkles a hint of spring sun.
Tomorrow the shrill colours of tulips will be sprung
through the warm heart of the earth—spring comes,
and the frost-killing sun
will warm everyone; even the tall trees ring true,
tossing forth green leaves
and life, for them, is full of mirth
born anew.

Mark Nenadov lives in Essex, Ontario, Canada with his lovely wife and their baby daughter. Mark’s poems have appeared in publications such as Wilderness House Literary Review, WestWard Quarterly, Northern Michigan University’s The Lightkeeper, and Pif Magazine.
